Supported Internship Logistics
The key factor for success of any human grouping - be it a company or a country - will be the proportion of changemakers it has to develop new ideas, take initiative and lead.
-Bill Drayton
Supported Internship semesters are offered during the spring and fall of each year. They start with a stand-alone retreat week in February or September. The basic plan is laid out below:
Each of the retreats is held at our northern California campus located about 90 miles north of San Francisco in the Sonoma County wine country. Each spring or fall group (or cohort) has between 6 and12 fellow travelers - students of the world and their own lives - people who are deeply interested in inhabiting their unique place in the world.
PROGRAM DATES:
Spring 2012
Retreat 1 February 21 - 24
Solo Internship February 25 - May 20
Retreat 2 May 21 - 24

Program Cost:
Supported Internships are LEAPNOW's most inexpensive group program, along with Learn to Serve. We designed the program with the aim of bringing transformative inner work and worldwide learning adventures within the reach of any motivated individual.
The cost of each Supported Internship is only $1,400! This includes internship placement services, access to our database of over 6,000 internship options, room and board for the two 4-day retreats, and support throughout your travel.
Not included in the program cost: Travel costs to California and to your internships. Personal health insurance, and personal spending money. Internship costs vary depending on location and organization. Academic Credit is available as an optional expense - see here for details.
Financial Aid: Financial aid is not yet available for the Supported Internship program, though it is something that we are actively working to put in place. For those who are enrolled at other universities, it is possible to do a Supported Internship as a study abroad program, thereby making your current financial aid available to you. Call our office for further details.
