Many tourists follow the Inca Trail for 3-4 days in Peru, ending at Machu Picchu. Traveling by bus, horseback and on foot, we will follow the longer and more ancient Inca trail for 10 weeks - a trail that runs from northern Argentina, through Bolivia and then on to Machu Picchu in Peru.
Along the way we will immerse ourselves in the study of Spanish in northern Argentina for two weeks while living with homestay families and doing afternoon internships. We will learn from and work alongside youth and environmental activists, then travel north on foot and horseback into Bolivia, where we will undertake a week-long contemplative retreat, learning by doing about traditional construction and agriculture, and visit the highest lake in the world, Lake Titicaca.
We will then do another two-week period of language immersion, before crossing into Peru.
Along the way we will visit indigenous market towns, learn to dance the tango from Argentinians, visit hot springs, and climb volcanoes.
Our pilgrimage culminates in a walking trek through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, leading finally to one of the most sacred sites on the planet - Machu Picchu.
Our program co-leaders are native Argentinian and Argentinian-American. They have created this program with the intent to bring you you behind the cultural veil.
